Zinc Plated Threaded Rod 1m

Zinc-plated steel threaded rod (studding bar) made to DIN 976, fully threaded along its entire 1000mm (39.4") length with a standard right-hand ISO metric thread - meaning it tightens in the same clockwise direction as a standard nut or bolt. Because the thread runs continuously from end to end rather than stopping short at each tip, a nut can be started and run down from either end of the rod, or positioned and locked off at any point along its length - there's no need to measure back from a fixed thread stop or work out where a partial-length rod's thread will run out.

DIN 976 is the modern, tighter-tolerance successor to the older DIN 975 threaded rod standard, and the two designations are commonly quoted together for this type of stud/studding bar - this rod is manufactured to the current DIN 976 specification. The zinc plating gives good protection against surface rust, making this an economical choice for general construction and fixing work.

Being fully threaded rather than threaded only at each end, this rod can also be cut to any shorter length on site using a hacksaw or angle grinder and will still take a nut cleanly at any point along the cut length - just deburr the cut end first so a nut runs on without binding.

Installation Guidance

• Fully threaded with a standard right-hand ISO metric thread, so a nut can be started and run down from either end of the rod

• To shorten on site, cut with a hacksaw or angle grinder - the thread still functions right up to the new cut end
