Overview

Polypropylene expansion wall plugs for fixing into masonry (concrete, solid brick and ceramic blocks) with a screw. As the screw is driven in, the plug expands inside the hole for a strong, reliable fixing. Five sizes from 6mm to 14mm diameter (M6 to M14), 30mm to 70mm long, in packs of 10 to 500.

How It Works
Drill a hole the same size as the plug, push the plug in until its collar sits flush with the surface, then drive the screw through the fixture into the plug. The anti-spin design, with anti-rotation fins and ribs along the body, stops the plug spinning in the hole as the screw goes home, and the split body expands evenly along its length, gripping the substrate. Simple installation speeds up the job, whether you are fitting a single bracket or a whole run of pipe clips.

Key Features

  • Expands inside the hole as the screw is driven home, for a strong, reliable fixing
  • Anti-rotation ribs along the plug body stop it spinning in the hole as the screw is driven home, keeping expansion even
  • Expansion fins at the neck bite into the substrate as the screw seats, driving full, even expansion along the fixing
  • Collar seats the plug flush with the surface for a neat finish
  • Made from polypropylene (PP)
  • Size range from 6mm to 14mm (M6 to M14), each sized to a matching drill bit

Typical Applications

Five sizes and a simple drill, insert and screw installation suit fixings into concrete, solid brick and ceramic blocks, for example:

  • Pipes and conduit in sanitary, plumbing and heating installations, held with pipe clips on concrete and brick walls
  • Conduit runs on ceramic block walls
  • Railings and other fittings in construction and renovation work
  • Machines and equipment mounted in workshops and industrial units
  • Shelves, brackets, mirrors and other wall-mounted fixtures around the home, garage and workshop

Installation Guidance

Follow each step in order:

  1. Drill a hole to match the plug diameter exactly (plug size = drill bit size).
  2. Clear all dust and debris from the hole with a vacuum or blow-out pump: this step is essential for full expansion and holding power, so the fins seat fully against the substrate.
  3. Insert the plug into the hole flush with the surface.
  4. Drive a suitable metric, wood or coach screw through the fixture into the plug.

Common Questions

What size drill bit do I need?
The same size as the plug: 6mm wall plugs need a 6mm bit, wall plugs M8 an 8mm bit, 10mm wall plugs a 10mm bit and 12mm wall plugs a 12mm bit. The table above lists every size.

Are screws included?
No, these are the plug bodies only. Drive a suitable metric, wood or coach screw through the fixture into the plug.

What can I fix them into?
Concrete, solid brick and ceramic blocks: these are wall plugs for brick, concrete and ceramic block walls.

What does M6 to M14 mean?
It is the plug diameter in millimetres. M6 wall plugs are 6mm across and 30mm long; M8 wall plugs 8mm across and 40mm long; M10 wall plugs 10mm across and 50mm long; M12 wall plugs 12mm across and 60mm long; and M14 wall plugs 14mm across and 70mm long. For example, 14mm wall plugs are the M14 size, M10 masonry wall plugs are 10mm x 50mm wall plugs, and 12mm masonry wall plugs are 60mm long.

What pack sizes are available?
Every size comes in packs of 10, 25, 40, 50, 100, 160 or 500 wall plugs.
