115mm Turbo Diamond Cutting Disc (4.5") - Heavy Duty 2.2mm Thick Blade

Overview
115mm Turbo Diamond Cutting Disc (4.5in) with a heavy-duty 2.2mm thick steel core, built for noticeably more rigidity than thinner, budget-grade blades. That extra core thickness reduces the flex, or "whip", that thin discs are prone to when working through dense, hard materials, giving a straighter, more controlled cut and a disc that holds up better under load. It's rated for both dry and wet cutting, so it can be run neat on site or with a water feed where dust suppression is needed, and it's sized to suit the 115mm (4.5in) angle grinders that are the standard handheld cutting tool on most sites and in most workshops.
The blade uses a continuous turbo-rim diamond edge rather than a segmented rim, combined with a series of shallow cooling grooves cut around the perimeter. Where a fully segmented disc leaves gaps in the cutting edge, the turbo rim keeps the edge continuous for a cleaner line, while the grooves still do the job of a segmented rim in clearing cutting dust from the disc face and giving the blade somewhere for heat to disperse as it works – which in turn keeps the segments running cooler over longer cuts. The diamond segments themselves are bonded to the steel core using a hot-press sintering process – fusing the diamond grit into the segment under heat and pressure – and are set at a 7.8mm (0.31in) segment height, noticeably deeper than the segment height typical of thin-kerf economy blades, for a longer usable life before the disc needs replacing.
This is a general-purpose disc for masonry and tile cutting, suitable across porcelain, granite, natural stone, ceramic tile, concrete, brick and general masonry, rather than a specialist blade limited to one material. The 22.23mm (7/8in) bore is the industry-standard fitting, matching the flange-and-locking-nut arrangement used on the vast majority of 115mm (4.5in) angle grinders, so no adapters or bushes are needed – the disc drops straight onto the arbor of the grinder you already own.
Key Features
- Heavy-duty 2.2mm (0.09in) thick steel core – more rigid than thinner budget blades, reducing flex and "whip" when cutting dense or hard materials
- Rated for both dry and wet cutting, giving flexibility for on-site work or dust-suppressed cutting with a water feed
- Continuous turbo-rim diamond edge with shallow cooling grooves for efficient dust clearance and heat dissipation during use
- Diamond segments hot-press sintered onto the core at a 7.8mm (0.31in) segment height, for extended working life over typical thin-kerf blades
- 115mm (4.5in) diameter with a 22.23mm (7/8in) bore, fitting the standard flange-and-locking-nut arrangement used on virtually all 115mm angle grinders
- General-purpose cutting across a wide range of masonry and tile materials, including porcelain, granite, natural stone, ceramic tile, concrete and brick, rather than a single-material specialist disc
- Manufactured to EN 13236, with a maximum operating speed of 13,300 RPM (rated to 80 m/s)
- Compact, lightweight steel-core disc at approximately 0.12kg (4.2oz) per blade

Typical Applications
As a general-purpose masonry and tile disc, this blade covers most of the cutting jobs a tradesperson or DIYer is likely to face on a renovation or building site, across both dry and wet cutting methods:
- Cutting porcelain and ceramic wall or floor tiles to size during kitchen and bathroom fitting, including trimming tiles around pipework, sockets and other fixtures
- Trimming granite, natural stone and paving slabs when laying or edging a patio, or cutting stone to fit around borders and obstacles
- Chasing masonry walls for electrical cable and conduit routing
- Cutting brick and block for general construction, alterations and renovation work, including forming openings or cutting units to size on site
- General concrete and masonry cutting on site or in the workshop, wherever a robust, longer-lasting disc is preferred over a disposable thin-kerf blade
- Wet cutting with a water feed where dust suppression is required, such as indoor tiling work, or dry cutting outdoors where a water supply isn't practical
Fitting & Safety Guidance
- Mount the disc onto any standard 115mm angle grinder fitted with a 22.23mm bore arbor, securing it with the grinder's own flange and spindle nut
- Always check the disc's maximum rated speed (13,300 RPM) against your grinder's no-load RPM before fitting – never fit a disc to a grinder capable of exceeding its rated speed
- Fit the correct guard for the disc and use appropriate PPE (eye, ear and respiratory protection as needed) for the material and cutting method in use
- Allow the disc to reach full speed before it contacts the material, and let the diamond segments do the cutting rather than forcing the disc through the material
- This is a cutting disc only, designed to cut with its edge – it must never be used for side grinding
