Braided Polypropylene Rope - Rot-Proof, Sold by the Metre

A hard-wearing, general-purpose braided rope made from polypropylene, a lightweight, durable plastic with resistance to mechanical damage and weather conditions. Supplied in 1m, 5m, 10m and 50m lengths, in 11 diameters from 3mm up to 20mm, so the same rope suits anything from light tying jobs to securing heavier loads, within the breaking loads in the table below.

The braided construction keeps the rope flexible, and because polypropylene does not degrade in moist conditions, the rope suits jobs where it is exposed to damp or the weather.

Key Features

• Flexible braided polypropylene construction
• 11 diameters from 3mm to 20mm, in 1m, 5m, 10m and 50m lengths

Specification

Breaking load figures are from the manufacturer's own declaration of conformity for braided polypropylene rope; the 12mm figure was not published by the manufacturer and is left blank rather than estimated. Weights per metre are net weights from our own supplier's packing list for this exact stock, divided by length per reel/carton.

Typical Applications

• Construction – lifting and securing structural elements and pulling tools
• Agriculture – tie-down and securing work around tractors and farm machinery, and tying and securing loads
• Sailing and boating – sheets, anchor ropes and steering lines
• Camping – tent and guy ropes and general campsite use
• Other uses – DIY projects and general use

Safe use
Always choose a diameter with a breaking load comfortably above the actual load you're securing or lifting, and never use rope for overhead lifting of loads over people, or as a safety/fall-arrest line - it is a general-purpose utility rope, not certified climbing or rigging equipment. Breaking load is a rope's rated strength under ideal, undamaged conditions; knots, sharp bends, UV ageing and wear all reduce real working strength, so inspect rope regularly and retire it if you see fraying, flattening or discolouration.
