Heavy Duty L-Shape Post Support Bracket, Concrete-In Anchor, 5mm Galvanised Steel
20% off applied
Overview
This heavy-duty L-shape post support is a concrete-in (wet-set) post anchor, made to be set directly into fresh concrete rather than bolted onto an existing slab. A ribbed steel spike keys into the concrete as it cures, while a single upright fixing plate with a flat seat holds your timber post above the footing. The post is fixed to one face of the bracket through three pre-drilled holes, and it stays clear of the ground, away from standing water and soil contact.
The bracket is made from 5mm (0.20in) S235 structural steel with a silver galvanised (zinc) finish. It is intended for connections in load-bearing timber structures and is CE marked under a European Technical Assessment, with declared load capacities for vertical and horizontal loads, set out in the table below.
Key Features
- Concrete-in (wet-set) fixing: an 18mm (0.71in) ribbed steel spike keys into fresh concrete for a permanent anchor
- L-shape design with a single upright fixing plate and a flat seat for the post
- Heavy 5mm (0.20in) S235 structural steel construction
- Silver galvanised (zinc) finish
- Three pre-drilled 11mm (0.43in) holes, ready for 10mm (0.39in) wood screws or coach screws
- CE marked under a European Technical Assessment, with a declared vertical load capacity of 29.3 kN on the timber side and 57.3 kN on the steel side
- Holds the timber clear of the ground, away from standing water and soil contact

The figures apply to a complete connection made with one bracket.
Typical Applications
This bracket suits any timber post that needs a permanent fixing set into a concrete footing: fence posts, pergola and gazebo uprights, carport and canopy posts, and the posts of decking, terraces and garden structures such as play equipment. Set in a new footing, it gives a single fixed connection between the post and the concrete, with the timber held clear of the ground.
- Fence posts set in new or replacement concrete footings
- Pergola and gazebo uprights
- Carport, shelter and canopy posts
- Decking and terrace support posts
- Garden structures such as play equipment
Installation Guidance
Set the spike into the concrete while it is still wet and workable, and check that the upright plate is vertical and in line with the post before the concrete begins to set. The mounting scheme allows a gap of up to 50mm (1.97in) between the concrete surface and the underside of the bracket. Let the concrete cure fully before loading the post.
Fix the post to the upright plate through the three 11mm (0.43in) holes, using 10mm (0.39in) wood screws or coach screws.
