Overview
Premium modular hexagon floating shelf in 18mm high-density MDF (0.71in), engineered with precise 120° angles so multiple units tessellate together into a seamless honeycomb wall display. Each hexagon functions as a self-contained shelf that can be hung on its own as a single accent piece, or combined edge-to-edge with further units to build out a larger feature-wall cluster over time.
Most flat-pack floating shelves are built from thinner 12mm board and can flex or bow once loaded. This range uses 18mm MDF (0.71in) – a thickness widely used in fitted cabinetry and furniture carcasses – manufactured to EN 622-5, the European specification for general-purpose dry-process MDF, at a typical board density of 600–800kg/m³ (37–50lb/ft³). The extra thickness and density give a noticeably stiffer, more solid-feeling unit than standard 12mm shelving. The board also meets the E1 low-formaldehyde emission class under EN 13986 (≤8mg/100g dry board by the EN 120 perforator method, or ≤0.124mg/m³ by the EN 717-1 chamber method), for safe indoor air quality.
Precision tessellation: each shelf is cut to mathematically precise 120° internal angles, so when two or more units are placed edge-to-edge the gaps between them stay consistent – whether you are hanging a single accent shelf or building out a full honeycomb feature wall. Units can be added to a cluster gradually over time without re-measuring the whole layout.
Mounting is via a hidden keyhole fixing routed into the back frame, so there are no visible brackets on the front face; Ø6 x 30mm (0.24in) wall plugs and screws are included for fixing to solid masonry.
Key Features
- 18mm high-density MDF (0.71in) board – thicker than the 12mm board used in most flat-pack floating shelves, for a stiffer, less flex-prone unit
- Manufactured to EN 622-5, the European specification for general-purpose dry-process MDF, at a typical board density of 600–800kg/m³ (37–50lb/ft³)
- E1 low-formaldehyde emission class per EN 13986, for safer indoor air quality
- Precision-cut 120° tessellation angles so multiple units line up edge-to-edge into a seamless honeycomb pattern
- Hidden, routed keyhole fixing – no visible brackets or screw heads on the front face
- Ø6 x 30mm (0.24in) wall plugs and screws included, for fixing to solid masonry
- Load rating up to 10kg (22lb) per unit on solid masonry walls
- Available in White (matte), Grey (satin/metallic sheen) and Sonoma Oak (textured woodgrain) finishes

Typical Applications
- A single statement shelf above a console table, bed, sofa or fireplace
- Multi-unit honeycomb clusters for gallery and feature walls – start with one or two hexagons and add more later, since the 120° edges stay consistent whichever units are combined
- Displaying books, houseplants and succulents – the 115mm (4.5in) depth suits small to medium pots
- Framed photos and artwork arranged within a honeycomb layout
- Collectibles, trophies and ornaments, within the 10kg (22lb) load rating on solid masonry
- Geometric wall decor for living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, nurseries and home offices
- Mixed-finish clusters – combine White, Grey and Sonoma Oak units within the same layout for a two- or three-tone honeycomb feature wall
Installation Guidance
Mark and drill at the keyhole centres on the back of the shelf, insert the Ø6 x 30mm (0.24in) wall plugs supplied and part-drive the screws, then hang the shelf so the routed keyhole slots engage the screw heads for a clean, bracket-free finish. When building a multi-unit honeycomb cluster, fit and level the first shelf before marking the fixing points for adjacent units, using its edges as a guide so the 120° angles and gaps between hexagons stay even across the whole layout.
Care: wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth.
