Secure your bolted joints against loosening with our premium M DIN 127B Split Lock Washers. Made from high-quality A2 Stainless Steel, these helical spring washers apply continuous tension and bite into mating surfaces to provide reliable resistance against vibration and torque, making them an essential component for machinery, automotive, and construction applications.
How They Work: Dual-Action Locking Power
Also known as spring lock washers, their unique split and helical design serves two functions. When tightened, the washer acts as a spring, exerting constant pressure on the nut and bolt to maintain tightness and compensate for material wear. Should any loosening occur, the sharp, square-cut ends of the washer dig into the fastener and the joint surface, creating a strong mechanical lock that resists further anti-clockwise rotation.
The A2 Stainless Steel Advantage
Crafted from A2 (also known as 18-8 or 304) Stainless Steel, these washers offer excellent corrosion and rust resistance, making them ideal for use in damp environments or outdoor applications. This durable material ensures long-lasting performance and reliability where standard zinc-plated or carbon steel washers would fail.
Key Features & Benefits:
-
Vibration Resistance: Actively prevents nuts and bolts from loosening under dynamic loads.
-
Corrosion Resistant: A2/18-8 stainless steel construction provides excellent protection against rust.
-
Maintains Tension: The spring action compensates for thermal expansion and contraction, keeping joints tight.
-
Durable & Reusable: High-quality construction for reliable, long-term performance.
-
DIN 127B Standard: Manufactured to precise German engineering standards for consistent quality and fit.
Common Applications:
-
Automotive Assemblies & Repair
-
Industrial Machinery & Equipment
-
Structural Steel & Construction Projects
-
Electrical Enclosures & Panels
-
Marine and Boating (Freshwater environments)
-
Heavy-Duty DIY Projects & Maintenance
Important Considerations:
-
Installation: For best results, place the washer directly under the nut. Do not overtighten to the point of completely flattening the washer.
-
Marine Use: For saltwater, coastal, or high-chloride environments, we strongly recommend using our A4 grade stainless steel washers for superior corrosion protection.
-
Galling: When using with stainless steel bolts and nuts, we recommend applying an anti-seize lubricant to prevent thread galling (cold welding).
